Administrator Group

More and more often our technical services staff is  unable to install time clock software at a clients site due to the fact that they (the end user) do not have administrator rights,  there is never an easy work around for this and often it takes a call to IT to resolve.

Once  an administrator will grant temporary rights we  can assign an account to the administrator group at that time for use later, you can do the same.  Here is how...

 

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the User Accounts icon.
  3. Click the user account you wish to grant administrative rights to.
  4. Click "Change the account type"
  5. Select Computer administrator and then the Change Account Type button.

 

After following the above steps that account will be part of the administrators group and have administrative rights on that computer. You will then be able to install any software you like, providing it works with the PC operating system, and resources
